WelcomeÖ
Rotarian of the Day: Jim Palmer
Born and raised in Pittsfield, MA, high school graduation was in 1972 thanks to the efforts of the Sisters of St. Joseph.
Immediate induction into the Air Force resulted in a first assignment to Altus AFB in Oklahoma. While there, I fell in love with the state and the young woman that became my wife for an amazing 33 years. We traveled around the world for 12 years at Uncle Samís expense, spending time in Colorado, Okinawa Japan and Texas before returning to Oklahoma.
Our return to the state involved a transition from the red clay of the flat Southwest to the more green Northeast. Utilizing the GI Bill and rehab programs, I was able to complete a Bachelors and Masters degree in education. In this chosen profession, I have advanced from teacher to principal to deputy superintendent, culminating in my present position as Superintendent of Vinita Public Schools for a total of 23 years in education.
My wife Linda and I have five children, one girl and 4 boys.
Todayís Program
Todayís speaker is Coach Tony Roach. He is the new boysí basketball coach for Vinita High School. Tony will talk about his players, schedule and the likely hood of the Hornets going to State.

Quote for the DayÖ.
"This process of election affords a moral certainty that the office of President will seldom fall to the lot of any man who is not in an eminent degree endowed with the requisite qualifications."
--Alexander Hamilton, Federalist No. 68, 14 March 1788
