ROD and Weekly programs.
Please be sure to note your ROD date and get me an updated bio and your program particulars as early as possible. I need this at least one week in advance.
Note new color, same message.
Amy will be taking over the bulletin after this week and I know she would appreciate all the advance notice you can give, at least one week!
Please notice the new list for ROD’s. Had a little change of order.
Service Above Self.
At this week’s meeting will be the launch of our new membership drive. New members are the life blood of every club and this year our District Governor has set lofty goals that I would to see us exceed. EVERYONE needs to pitch in. Also, we will go over the different committees that gives everyone the opportunity to serve. Good stuff. Fun stuff.
Head scratcher
How is it that a life sentence for a criminal equals 12 years or more? And a set number of years is actually complete after 85% of the time is served. Obviously math is not the long suite of attorneys which may explain what is going on in Washington. BG

Rotarian of the Day: Bob Green
Bob grew up in Vinita and graduated from VHS in 1966. After one year at Idaho University studying wildlife management he saw the light and came back to Stillwater. He graduated from O.S.U. College of Veterinary Medicine in 1972 and was a partner in a small practice in Tulsa for 25 years. He moved back to Grand Lake to manage Harbors View Marina in 1997. He then sold boats from 16’ to 58’ for about 7 years before buying into a marine related product company called Ryan-O Dock Rollers. In November 2006, he decided to try again at selling boats and joined Arrowhead Boat Sales. He still enjoys doing surgery in Grove and at Dr. Ownbey’s when the need arises. Bird hunting and training bird dogs occupies his free time. Married to Dena, they have a son and daughter and two grandsons and a granddaughter due in October. Surprisingly he has 5 dogs; 3 manly bird dogs and 2 worthless house occupants.

Today’s Program
Changing of the Guard
Be sure to come to this week’s meeting and thank Rod for a job well done. He will be passing the gavel to Bob (yikes!) who will introduce the new board and go over the challenges and opportunites for the coming year. Bob will also do an example of a classification talk which will become the norm for all future ROD’s. With new members coming into the club this will be a way for everyone to keep the membership up to date on their activities. Also, he will be doing the first installation of “Vinita Days” that will keep a little perspective on how we have come.
