"Spotlight on Service . . . Membership"
August is Rotary's Membership and Extension Month, a time to focus on Rotary's continuing need for growth, to seek new members and form new clubs.
The life blood of every club is membership. We will always have some members who move or chose a different avenue or for whatever reason, leave the club. So, we must always be aware of potential new members. That is everyone's responsibility.
Anyone can bring a guest to our club to enjoy any of our meetings. If you think that person meets the ideals of Rotary then submit his or her name to our Board. If there are no objections that person will be presented to the general membership for approval.
Most of us meet people everyday who possesses those traits that would make a good Rotarian. Try to think when was the last time you brought someone as a guest or submitted a name for potential membership. We need everyone to help with this!!
And, remember the words of our Past (2009-10) District Governor A.C. Moncrief regarding these individuals, ‚ "They are already Rotarians‚ they just don't know it.!"
"Hornet's Nest Workday"
Tuesday, August 10 - 5:30 pm till we're finished!
Bring your gloves and tools and help us get the playground safe and ready for the kids to go back-to-school!
Thought For the Day . . .
"The quality of a person's life is in direct proportion to their commitment to excellence, regardless of their chosen field of endeavor!"
--Vince Lombardi
Please help make your
Bulletin Editor's job a little easier . . .
I will email the biography we have on file for you a few weeks before you are scheduled as Rotarian of the Day. Please review the biography immediately upon receipt of my email and let me know if corrections are needed.
I need to have your biography information and program information at LEAST one week before you are scheduled as Rotarian of the Day.
Our esteemed President Rod Couch is requesting that each week our scheduled Rotarian of the Day give a brief (2-3 minute) "classification talk". This brief talk should just expand on your biography information.
Very important!! Please make sure your email account isn't sending my AOL email messages to your spam box. My email address will appear as DeVoreAJ@aol.com
